For several hundred years following the death of Christ, there is absolutely no question that his followers were certain that he had forbidden war. As a result of many Christians refusal to participate in war they suffered the consequences of imprisonment and/or death. These facts are indisputable. A learned writer of the seventeenth century said, "It is as easy to obscure the sun at mid-day, as to deny that the primitive Christians renounced all revenge and war."

I bet you become very well known on this iPeace site!
Thanks for asking me to be your friend.
Your words are wise, and yes, your What are citizens thinking is right on!
I, American, but living in Italy (for over 30 years!!) have thought for years that Americans are manipulated...and I am not really that much infomed about politics. Have gotten much more so living in Europe - we seem to have a larger vision of the world from here, whereas in California, it seemed to me that people didn't see much futher than the shopping mall!! No, I am exaggerating, but distance, physical distance can very often mean that one thinks the rest of the world is over there, so why worry!!
Teach us! Share your wisdom! As Chanae says here below, yes, we can start missing being with, or knowing elders who are really informed, wise, and involved. It is very fortunate to hear your views.
Best wishes
Stephanie
